The Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management is a more comprehensive structured qualification, providing you with the key management and supervisory skills and techniques to enable you to operate effectively as a first line manager. This qualification allows you to develop a wide range of management competencies from effective recruitment and selection through to leading and developing individuals and teams.
Who are these qualifications for?
These qualifications have been developed to provide an introduction to each stage of management (Team leading, First line management, Middle and Senior management).
Whilst each can be taken as a recognised professional qualification in its own right, they can also be taken as an excellent stepping stone to the corresponding credit based qualifications. The qualification can be contextualised for use in enhancing in-house induction programmes for new or recently promoted managers at any level.
The qualification is offered in the medium of the English Language. The qualification can be offered by Centres in languages other than English – Centres wishing to do this should refer to the relevant section of the CMI Centre Code of Practicefor guidance.
Progressions
The qualifications provide opportunities for progression to other qualifications at the same or higher levels, which could also be work-based or more academically structured. The qualifications also support learners in meeting the requirements for work and/or employment within all areas of management and leadership at this level.
Award
Learners need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 6 credits to achieve the qualification
Certificate
Learners need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits to achieve the qualification.
Diploma
Learners need to complete all core units (Group A) and two optional units (Group B) to a total of at least 42 credits to achieve the qualification
